I am a 25 year old, single man considering the adoption of an older/special needs child. For the past several weeks, I have been doing research and talking with potential members of a support system (mostly my mother, who is very supportive). I have really learned a lot from my reading and have been thinking through some of the issues surrounding this MAJOR step in life.
I want to hear from people who have made similar decisions. What questions did you ask yourself? What questions do you wish now that you had asked yourself? I have thought about a lot of different areas and have dithered a bit considering the enormity of this decision. So, I really need a checklist, in a sense, that would enable me to say, "yes" or "no" to this decision. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.
