Is anyone willing to share their experiences from a summer hosting program where orphans from other countries are brought to the U.S. to live with families for a few weeks? For those who adopted, did you find the hosting period helpful to get to know the child or was it a "honeymoon" period and the behavior changed after adoption? Do you think it's possible or at least easier to identify RAD, fetal alcohol syndrome, or other problems during those few weeks? It seems a good...

Surviving Yunona's downfall...HELP!

We are in a pickle. yesterday I just found out that back in January, the FBI shut down Yunona for good, arresting the vice president and officer (the president had just been arrested in Russia). It's no wonder I haven't heard from my contact for the past YEAR, when I sent in my last post-placement report. The whole company and all its branches are now defunct. They face charges of child trafficking.

Well our final post-placement report is due in a few short months, and we have nobody...

I am beginning the adoption process and have filed an initial application with "Adoption Blessings". Has anyone used this agency or heard any feedback about it, positive or negative? It is based in Georgia. Thank you for any helpful information. I am interested in adoption from Guatemala. Is there a significant advantage to using an agency in your own geographic area?
